Growing Up

“I am a native Athenian and enjoy the people in the Athens area who are from all parts of the country and from around the world. My education was at Alps Road and Barrow Elementary, Hilsman Jr. High and Clarke Central HS. I attended the University of Georgia and my Chiropractic education was at Life University in Marietta, GA.”

Family

“Lori Powell accepted my proposal and we have been married for 33 years.”

“I come from a musical family. By that I mean everyone in my household is accomplished musically, except me. My wife Lori is a singer, songwriter and piano/organ player. Our oldest son, Joseph, is a renowned opera and classical singer and voice coach with a music degree from the University of Georgia. Joseph has sung with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra three times starring as Tony from Westside Story in a Bernstein Review, portrayed the Beast in Beauty and the Beast at the Classic Center in Athens and had numerous leads and supporting roles with the award winning Oconee Youth Playhouse. Joseph is frequently called upon to sing the national Anthem at UGA sporting events. Our son, Johnny, at Augusta State University, is an accomplished singer and songwriter. He has a band, Old House, which includes his younger brother, Jim, who plays guitar and sings backup and solos. Jim attends Gainesville State University and brought Pete, his dog, into our family. Dr. Barry’s thirteen year old daughter, Ivy Elizabeth, is a singer, dancer and actress at Oconee Youth Playhouse.”

Dr. Barry especially focuses on Migraines and Headaches, Neck and Back Pain, Foot and Hand Neuropathy, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Arthritic conditions and he likes helping golfers play painlessly and get lower scores.
